Method

Step 1: Prepare the fruit

Peel and chop the mango, pineapple and banana into smaller pieces.

Remove the avocado flesh and rinse the spinach thoroughly.

Step 2: Add everything to your blender

Place the mango, pineapple, banana, avocado, spinach and ginger into a blender.

Add the chia seeds and your chosen liquid.

Step 3: Blend until smooth

Blend for approximately 45–60 seconds, or until everything is thoroughly combined.

If the smoothie is too thick, add a little more water or milk.

For an extra-cold drink, add ice cubes and blend again.

Step 4: Serve immediately

Pour into two tall glasses and enjoy while fresh.

What Makes This Smoothie Special?

Mango and pineapple give the smoothie its tropical sweetness and bright flavour.

Banana and avocado create a wonderfully creamy consistency without the need for ice cream.

Spinach introduces leafy greens without overpowering the fruit.

Ginger provides a distinctive warm, slightly spicy note that balances the sweetness.

Chia seeds contribute dietary fibre and a little texture, making them an excellent addition to smoothies and breakfast bowls.

Three Ways to Customise Your Smoothie

For a tropical breakfast: Add two tablespoons of Chilli Is A Spice Rolled Oats before blending.

For a smoothie bowl: Use less liquid, pour into a bowl and finish with Granola, Chia Seeds and sliced fruit.

For a refreshing summer drink: Replace part of the liquid with chilled coconut water and add extra ice.

A Little Preparation Goes a Long Way

Freeze portions of mango, pineapple and banana in separate containers.

When you’re ready for a smoothie, simply add the frozen fruit to your blender with the remaining ingredients.

You can enjoy a refreshing homemade drink without needing to chop fruit every time.
